Biography

Charlotte is a passionate lawyer. She analyses quickly and well what is going on within a file, without losing sight of the entrepreneur behind the file.

She always tries to achieve the best possible solution for the client. This often requires more than a (legal) answer to the question presented. The interconnections and (larger) consequences within the whole also play a role. Charlotte therefore sees herself more as a partner of the client than solely a legal expert.

For whom.

Charlotte particularly assists SME entrepreneurs in the field of corporate and/or contract law. She also advises and litigates for clients facing insolvency law. For example, because their company is at risk of running into difficulties or they are held liable as directors by the receiver or a creditor. In this respect, her experience as a former receiver comes in handy.

What experience is brought?

Charlotte was also regularly appointed receiver in recent years. As a result, she has extensive experience and specialist knowledge of insolvency law. Her training as a restructuring expert, which she completed in early 2023, adds to this. Within the Insolvency and Restructuring team, she deals extensively with (forced) settlements under the Dutch Homologation of Private Arrangements Act (WHOA), all in a multidisciplinary context and in cooperation with external expert parties.

Where else to find at Marxman Lawyers?

Within Marxman, Charlotte is part of team 'Insolvency and Restructuring'. In addition, Charlotte has also been active within team 'Commercial Contracting' in the past. These areas of law are intertwined and often converge in the files she handles.

She is also involved in the (internal) training and supervision of trainee lawyers and ensures knowledge sharing within and outside the firm.
