Robbert has been a lawyer since 2003. He has a broad corporate law advisory and litigation practice and specialises in insolvency law.
Robbert regularly represents private companies and family businesses, as well as shareholders, directors and creditors. He advises on complex financing issues and on the security position of suppliers. He also assists parties seeking a relaunch and litigates on various aspects of directors' liability.
Until 2025, Robbert was regularly appointed receiver in bankruptcies and administrator in moratoriums. From 2022 to 2025, he lived and worked as a lawyer in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (domiciled in Sint Maarten), where he gained valuable international advisory and litigation experience and further broadened his expertise.
Robbert is part of the Restructuring and Insolvency team. Due to his extensive litigation experience, he is also part of the Litigation team.
Robbert studied civil and corporate law at Leiden University. In 2008, he completed the INSOLAD/Grotius specialisation course in Insolvency Law (cum laude) and in 2011 the specialisation course Financial Economics for Insolvency Lawyers at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Robbert is a member of the Association of Insolvency Lawyers (INSOLAD).

Robbert has registered the following main areas of law in the Register of Jurisdictions of the Dutch Bar Association: Insolvency Law and Corporate Law. Pursuant to this registration, he is obliged to obtain ten training points in each registered main area of law each calendar year according to the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
