Berthe Schellinger – Lawyer

Berthe Schellinger – Akse (1986) started as a corporate lawyer in 2010. After a period of 6 years, in which Berthe worked at a large accountancy firm as Senior Legal Counsel Mergers and Acquisitions, she returned to the legal profession at Marxman Advocaten at the end of 2020. Berthe has extensive experience in the field of mergers, acquisitions and other corporate law issues. Because  of her many years of close cooperation with colleagues from other disciplines within an accountancy firm, she has gained a lot of knowledge and experience in the entire width of the acquisition process – including the financial aspect. She knows the ropes and guides clients from the very beginning of an acquisition process to the signing at the notary. She is also available to assist her clients with corporate law questions that may arise after an acquisition.

In 2016, Berthe completed the Grotius specialist course in Company and Business Law. “A company takeover is not an easy process, where time pressure is often great and the interests as well. In such processes I like to be a sparring partner for my customer, but I also keep the objective view that may be necessary. As a lawyer, I can do more than just draw up the legal documentation. I therefore like to be involved at an early stage, so that adjustments – if necessary – are still possible and customers can make full use of my knowledge and expertise. ” Partly because of her Twente roots, Berthe is down-to-earth, decisive and pragmatic. Berthe likes to work with colleagues from other sections, so that the interests of the customer can be best served.

In her spare time she likes to spend a lot of time on her racing bicycle and enjoys the Veluwe, where she lives with her husband and three children.

Berthe Schellinger has registered Corporate Law as the principal legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister).
