What exactly is StrengthsFinder, and how does it work?

StrengthsFinder (officially: Gallup CliftonStrengths) is a science-based tool that provides insight into your natural talents. The premise is simple: everyone has strengths. If you know them well and use them consciously, you work with more energy and effectiveness.

Here's how it works:

You complete an online assessment. Based on your answers, you will receive a personal profile: your Top 5 talent themes (or all 34, if you choose). The report tells you which talents are dominant in you, how they express themselves in your behaviour and how you can develop them in a targeted way.

Examples of talents are Strategic, Empathy, Analytical, Performance or Learning. The profile does not pass judgment but offers language and insight.

How do you use StrengthsFinder within Marxman?

Everyone at Marxman takes the StrengthsFinder assessment. This is followed by an individual coaching session with a certified Strengths coach from The Rookie Minds, our strategic partner in organisational and talent development. In that conversation, you will delve deeper into your profile. Which talents do you immediately recognise? What surprises you? And how do you use that in your daily work?

Then we get to work as a team. You get to know each other's profiles and gain insight into the collective strengths within the team. This helps with better cooperation, more conscious division of tasks and clear division of roles.

But it doesn't stop there. We use Strengths as a common thread throughout the organisation:

In short: Strengths is not something you do once at your onboarding. It is our way of looking - at yourself, at others and at the organisation.

What does that look like in practice?
