Earlier, we posted an article on the widening of the guarantee for MBK credits, but the government is also offering help for (medium-)large companies in need of credit. In connection with the corona measures, the GO scheme is also being widened with the aim of preventing (as much as possible) liquidity problems.

Enterprise Finance Guarantee (GO scheme)

The GO scheme, like the BMKB scheme, offers the possibility to take out a substantial loan for which the government partly guarantees. With the GO scheme, this is 50% on the part of the loan not yet repaid.

To qualify for this scheme, it must be a Dutch company that is fundamentally sound and has substantial activities in the Netherlands. Furthermore, there must be no excessive capital withdrawal during the last 12 months and the 'fresh money' principle must be met. The 'fresh money principle' means that the financing may not be used to replace previously provided financing, but rather must serve a concrete business plan. Enterprises in agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture, real estate, the financial sector and healthcare are - with exceptions - excluded from the GO scheme.

What does the widening mean?

Previously, the GO scheme only applied to loans up to €50 million. This has been increased to € 150 million. The guarantee amount has thus increased from €25 million to €75 million. The requirement that the GO scheme only applies from €1.5 million onwards has not changed.
